Biometric scanning for Umrah visa applications for Malaysian pilgrims

Umrah pilgrims from Malaysia are now required to use the biometric scanning method for electronic visa applications (e-Visa). According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on December 4, 2022, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has announced that pilgrims from Malaysia and four other countries, namely Britain, Tunisia, Egypt and Bangladesh, must include their biometric data including fingerprints, face and eyes, in addition to being required to include a copy of their passport through the Saudi Visa Bio application. This step is an initiative by the Government of Saudi Arabia to make it easier for Umrah pilgrims to manage their journey without having to be physically present at the embassy in their respective countries.‌ Saudi Visa Bio can be downloaded from: Google Play for android Apple Apps Store for iPhone
